Loop
Checks
Half
Loop Checks
Our
Certified Technicians can perform and document a half loop check. A
half loop check consists of a point to point wiring check. Historically
it is used to verify that by drawing comparison, all of the wires are
landed in the correct spots.
Full Loop Check
Our Certified Technicians can perform and document
a full loop check. The computer based documentation will verify that
each instrument that makes up the total loop is responding as specified.
Documentation
We provide traceable documentation to support all
loop checks. Each technician is issued a log book. The log book becomes
a controlled document. All loop check data is recorded in the log book.
The technician then enters the log book data into a computer data base.
A loop check sheet is then printed and reviewed by the technician. After
verifying that the data was transferred correctly, the technician places
his signature on the sheet. This Original Signature document becomes
the loop check turnover document. All original signature documents are
placed in a binder which is separated by tab sets that are identified
by instrument tag number. This Original Signature binder becomes the
loop check turnover document.
Documentation and documentation control
is paramount at ICI. All of the work we perform is linked together in
a common data base. This commonality allows us to:
- Know
what technicians worked on a project and print a list
that includes their
names and certification numbers.
-
Retrieve the documents
that support the technicians training
and certification.
-
Print a list of all
test equipment assets that were used on a
given project.
-
Retrieve the NIST
traceable documents to support the test
.standards
used on your project.
-
Out of tolerance test
equipment - the data base allows us to
quickly identify which
client instruments would be affected
by an ICI asset that
was found to be out of tolerance.
Via the data base,
a list sorted by client could be generated
showing us where each affected piece is located. That client
is notified of the out of tolerance condition by way of an ICI
out of tolerance report.
-
Accompanying this report is a more extensive report which
contains error data. With this information, a client can access
if the out of tolerance condition was significant enough to
affect their final product.
