About ICI

Instrumentation and Controls, Inc., is a PA Corporation whose primary market is PROCESS CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTATION. However, we do tend to find ourselves in other industrial markets where the level of complexity requires a company with our background and skills. We are a small privately held company (WBE). Our work force is comprised of Project Managers, Electricians, Pipe Fitters, and Certified Instrument Technicians. The company roster has been running between 60 and 85 people.

Safety
As a company, we have a high emphasis on work place safety. All of our field employees are required to obtain a OSHA 10 hour card or a Built Rite PSM (Process Safety Management) card. To receive this card, requires sixteen (16) class room hours of training with a written test administered at the conclusion. To maintain your status, you must take additional classroom training and be re-tested every two years. Weekly safety training is used to maintain a high level of safety awareness. This commitment to training along with daily safety walk through inspections by our safety representative has allowed us to enjoy an excellent safety record.

Training
All of our Journeyman Electricians and Pipe Fitters have completed a state approved apprenticeship program. In some cases where it is required, our journeyman are state tested and certified. Instrument Technicians are required to be certified and tested by an outside source such as the ISA (International Society for Measurement and Control). We are a union shop. Currently we are signatory to the Joint UA/IBEW Instrumentation Technicians National agreement as well as to various IBEW (Electricians) and UA (Pipe Fitter) locals. We draw our Certified Technicians from both the United Association (UA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Both of these organizations are dedicated to the training and certification of their I & C technicians.

We are active members of ICEA (Instrument Contracting and Engineering Association), ISPE (International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers), and the ISA ( The Instrumentation and Automation Society)

We are licensed electrically in PA, NJ, MD and DE. This aspect, allows us to be your single source for a contractor with the ability to self perform all of the technical aspects of your project.
